This document is designed to help the operators, and others, who would like to participate in Destination: Canada.
All tourism related operators in Canada are given a free directory listing on Destination Canada. Included in this listing are the following:
- One image or logo,
- A brief description of the property/service (usually this follows the format used in the Canada Travel Guide),
- A brief listing of the operator's rates,
- Inclusion of symbols describing: the star grading of the property, amenities offered, payment methods accepted
- Hot links to and from all provincial association listings that the operator is a member of,
- A general description of the surrounding Trail including local villages, towns and cities,
- Current weather conditions and a link to the weather history of the Province,
- Currency exchange rate between $US - $CDN and a link to the international currency conversion table,
- A map locator indicating where the property is located, including the geographic position of all other tourism related activities in the operator's vicinity,
- The ability to have their property/service included in the visitors Travel Itinerary Planner
- The ability to have their property/service included in the Route Planner which enables visitors to download driving instructions to the operator's location from all Canada towns or major cities across North America,
- The use of MapEze's custom "Proximity Search Engine" which allows visitors to determine what tourism attractions are within a 1 to 25 kilometer radius of the property/service,
- All operators (over 5,000 at last count) appear on the "General Search" of the data base and on the proximity search of neighboring properties/services, and
The Atlantic Canadian provinces are all now tied in together. Itineraries created here are good on http://destination-ns.com, http://destination-pei.com, http://destination-nb.com and http://destination-nfld.com.This allows tourists to plan their inter-provincial travel using the same Itinerary Planner and Routing System. No other site that offers this convenience with the level of detail for Atlantic Canada.
If operators wish to expand their presence on Destination Canada they can do so under one, or any combination of the following programs:
Scalable functionality and Pricing
- Contract period - 12 months
- Payment terms - 12 months in advance
- TIANS member and associates get 12 months for the price of 10.
- Operators may add additional pages under Rates, Meetings & Events, Photo Gallery, Room Descriptions, Special Deals, e-mail, Food and Beverage, PDF Brochure and Coupon downloads, Recreation Facilities, and Services. See the Pricing model for further details.
- Virtual Tours are quoted per project.
- Additional pages, can be modified at any time by the operator using a friendly set of TripWizard utilities. (in development)
- WebTrends monthly activity report $5/month
- Ad Banners are available at $25 per thousand impressions.
- Image scanning $10/image
- Word processing $25/hour
Note: All participating sites will be requested to display the Mapeze icon (approx. 100 x 125 pixels) somewhere on their front page.
